The Society for the Protection and Re-homing of Animals (SPRA) is a small North Devon based charity which undertakes to find loving and caring permanent homes for all animal species for the duration of their lives.
SPRA was founded in October 2000 by Stuart Ford (previously a manager at International Animal Rescue), and other committed animal enthusiasts.
We are only a small charity but are supported by a group of dedicated, caring people, and we have a 97% re-homing success rate.
We are always grateful for any tins of dog or cat food, rabbit or wild bird food you would like to donate. There are collection bins in Whiskers Pet Centre, Torrington, the Co-operative in Minehead, and all our shops. Many thanks.
We are your local animal re-homing charity incorporating rehabilitation in your home.
SPRA is mainly funded by its five Devon and Somerset charity shops:
- Potacre Street, Torrington
- Allhalland Street, Bideford
- Queen Street, Barnstaple
- Gold Street, Tiverton
- Blenheim Road, Minehead
We accept all clean clothing, bric-a-brac, books, CDs, videos, DVDs, toys, small items of furniture and electrical items. We also collect by appointment.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TOO!
